German Chamomile Seeds

Matricaria recutita

What could be more soothing than curling up at bedtime with a good book and a cup of chamomile tea made from flowers fresh from your garden? The flowers can also be dried for floral arrangements, pressed for crafts, or woven into charming wreaths, and their edible petals can be tossed into salads. In the garden, chamomile attracts beneficial insects and pollinators.

    Would you believe?!

Year 3, 6B container amateur here again! Yet another season growing from THIS same packet that says sell by ‘23! I only need enough for a cup or two of tea for myself every year and this time you can see I mixed in some alyssum too. I suspect I’m becoming a chaos container mad scientist gardner?! Who cares as long as the bees are happy and I have a win or two?! Am I right?

    Hey Kerry,

This is absolutely amazing - year 3 from the same packet! I love that you're getting so much value out of those German Chamomile seeds and still enjoying fresh homegrown tea each season.

Your container gardening approach is proof that you don't need a huge space to create something beautiful and functional.

Thank you for sharing your multi-year success story and for that fantastic 5-star rating! Keep on growing (and experimenting!) 🌻️

Pretty Flowers, Easy to Grow with Multiple Uses

I've been growing German Chamomile in my garden for many years and have specifically purchased Botanical Interests Chamomile seeds for the past four years. My local garden center stocks Botanical Interests seeds every spring and I've never been disappointed with the germination rate or yield.

If you're new to gardening these are a great plant to start with. The flowers are pretty with delicate feathers leaves. They also smell good. The flowers are also great for making teas and potpourri. If I can't sleep Chamomile is my go too for tea ,even more so then herbs like lavender and lemon balm, which are also prized for their relaxing effect.
