The morning glories grew beautifully, but only a handful of the other seeds sprouted, and those that did did not survive being transplanted from their peat pot nursery to outdoors.

If I had to plant only one variety of morning glory, Grandpa Ott would unquestionably be it! Large velvety indigo blooms (lighter blue but still very lovely in the first photo, planted in poor rocky soil) that fade to magenta as the day progresses. They glow as if lit from within. The heart-shaped foliage is beautifully formed and textured. AND the buds resemble purple and white swirled unicorn horns!
