I only had 4 plants grow from the package and of those only two ended up flowering but they did so well I was able to harvest seeds to try again and to even share with friends! It was worth the buy. My plants dis even better the next year!
I am in the low desert of Az and the plants that did the best were planted along a north-facing wall.

I bought these at the end of summer, so I'll start them early next spring. They arrived quickly, they're packaged well, and I can't wait to start them next year.

Wow, wow, wow! Hands down my favorite thing we grow. These hollyhocks are 11 ft tall and bloom from late July through October in our Zone 5, high desert location. We have 4 growing outside our kitchen window and they are just perfect. They are pollinator magnets and we get visited by hummingbirds at least daily (see video)! Hollyhocks will always have a place in the garden, which is a good thing because these are prolific self seeders. I had to battle hollyhock weevils this year but just knocked them off into a bucket of water and dish soap and that seemed to solve the problem. Normal rust with hollyhocks. Love these flowers so much, thanks BI!!
