About Premier Blend Kale Seeds
Brassica oleracea, B. napus
DWARF BLUE CURLED': 12"-15" tall, bluish green leaves with curly, frilly edges. 'DWARF SIBERIAN IMPROVED': 12"-15" tall, deep green smooth, rippled leaves with coarsely curled edges. 'NERO TOSCANA' LACINATO: 24"-48" tall, strap like, blistered leaves with curled back edges are very dark blue-green, appearing almost black. Discovered in Tuscany, Italy. 'RED RUSSIAN': 24"-36" tall, flat, smooth, gray-green leaves with wavy margins. Veins and stems are reddish purple. Leaves turn red with cold temperatures. Originally from Siberia.

I've never had such a low germination rate on kale EVER. Where I live, once you get it started it's like a weed. It never dies and just grows into a tree. I have zero kale plants in my new garden because I bought my seeds from BI this time instead of a competitor.

This mix is a beast. I threw the seeds- literally- around part of a garden bed around October, raked it in a little and it has grown fantastically. It's now 11/12 am just letting it grow. Plants are about 1.5 ft tall already with hand size leaves, just survived 3 days of hard frost. I've harvested about 4x already for stir fry and salads. I got this blend to see what type of kale I prefer and now see all the hype around Lacinato kale, it's a clear winner followed by the red Russian for me.
