Rapini Broccoli Raab Seeds

Brassica rapa subsp. rapa

There is a good reason the Europeans love Rapini; the tender stems, buds, flowers, and leaves have a wonderfully delicate and slightly bitter, peppery broccoli flavor, that can be enjoyed in salads, stir-fries, or steamed. Budding florets should be harvested just before the flowers open for best flavor. Known in Italy as "broccoletti".

    I think I just might!

Year 3, 6B container amateur here! This is one of the new plants. I’m trying this year. Seeded on 3/28, babied ridiculously, this is why I use containers. For weeks I brought them in the house out of the house, in the house out of the house.😂 until they could finally stay out! They are picking up speed now I’m optimistic we will be eating home grown rapini this year!

    Hearty

This was a great addition to my fall garden. My actual broccoli plants bever took off, so this and the Kailan were the only broccoli types I enjoyed. The birds didn't bother this because it's so peppery, and it produces so many side shoots! Very yummy in a stir fry or sautéed with garlic. It went to seed at the first sign of spring though lol.
